Recently, Baidu and Baichuan Intelligence announced the opening of their large-scale language models, Wenxin Yiyan and Baichuan, to the public. These are the first language models in China to be opened to the public through filing.
Yesterday at midnight, Wenxin Yiyan announced that it would be the first to fully open to society. Users can download the "Wenxin Yiyan" app from the app store or log in to the "Wenxin Yiyan" official website to experience it. It is reported that Baidu will also open a batch of newly restructured AI native applications, allowing users to fully experience the four core abilities of generative AI: understanding, generation, logic, and memory.
Also yesterday morning, Baichuan Intelligence announced that its large-scale language model had been filed under the "Interim Measures for the Administration of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services." Baichuan Intelligence was founded on April 10th of this year by former CEO of Sogou, Wang Xiaochuan. The core team is composed of top AI talents from well-known technology companies such as Sogou, Baidu, Huawei, Microsoft, ByteDance, and Tencent. In just four months, Baichuan Intelligence has released three general language models, including the first open-source and commercially available 7 billion parameter language model in China, Baichuan-7B, and the 53 billion parameter language model, Baichuan-53B.
In addition to Baidu and Baichuan Intelligence, large models from companies and institutions such as ByteDance, Sensetime, Zidong Taichu, and Zhipu Huazhang have also entered the first batch of filing lists under the "Interim Measures for the Administration of Generative Artificial Intelligence Services" and can officially provide services to the public.
