In this concert, young pianist Zhang Haotian will focus on the tradition of "arrangment music" in music history, transplanting music originally composed for other performance forms onto the piano, showcasing the expressive power of this classical instrument. In terms of repertoire selection, in addition to Liszt's arrangements of Schubert and Schumann, and Balakirev's arrangement of Glinka's works, Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" and Stravinsky's "Petrouchka" ballet music arrangements will be the highlight of this concert.
Art is forever young and classic, but for a work, each era can give different interpretations and current explanations. As a pioneer in classical music, the Beijing Music Festival continues to focus on music innovation and live experiences. In this cutting-edge concert in 2023, Zhang Haotian's live performance of "Petrouchka" music will collaborate with stage visual director Ren Dongsheng, and collide and interact with visual art by digital artist DaDa (Da Qiuyan), and combine this cross-border, first-ever global limited edition music art and digital art interactive collection, creating a special experience that combines live infectiousness and eternal commemoration for the audience.
In order to allow the audience to obtain limited digital collections in a convenient way, the Beijing Music Festival specially selected a combination of virtual and real methods to release digital collections on the Bazaar Art Digital World platform, perfectly combining them with physical objects throughout the concert experience. After the concert tickets are sold, each ticket holder will not only receive a physical ticket, but also can scan the QR code printed on the ticket to exchange for a "exclusive digital seat" commemorative ticket on the Bazaar Art Digital World platform, capturing a precious memory of the Beijing Music Festival's quarter-century moment. On the day of the concert, live audience members will have priority to purchase the limited edition digital series prints of "Petrouchka", collecting a precious live experience. The "Petrouchka" digital series prints consist of three pieces, with a global limited edition of 100 copies per piece. Each print will not only be accompanied by the two artists' signatures, but also will include a dynamic digital collection related to the live memory, which can be exchanged and collected by scanning the QR code printed on the print on the Bazaar Art Digital World platform.
