The "Musical Garden" series is a special collaboration project between the Beijing Music Festival and the Beijing Park Management Center. The series will consist of three afternoon tea concerts held at the Divine Music Administration Temple of Heaven. The performances will include a concert of famous tenor singer Mo Hualun's art songs, an indoor music concert jointly presented by three duets from Hong Kong and Beijing, and a new piece of ancient music and singing work "Hu Jia Eighteen Beats" jointly presented by guqin player Lin Chen and singer Gong Linna. The launch of this series will further integrate music and urban park life, providing audiences with a historical and immersive music experience in the mysterious and future parks, and also transmitting China's historical gardens to the world through international music language.
The "Musical Garden" series concerts will be co-presented with Beijing Music Radio (FM97.4), and all three concerts will be broadcast live on the radio. Beijing Music Radio host Gu Yue will chat with musicians about music during the live broadcast, bringing the relaxed atmosphere of the offline performances to the airwaves.
In 2019, the Beijing International Music Festival and Beijing Music Radio (FM97.4) jointly launched a series of lunchtime concerts, extending the concert venues to urban spaces such as landmarks and office buildings, creating opportunities for urban white-collar workers and office workers to experience classical music, and broadcasting music to every corner of the city through radio. This year, "Musical Garden" will continue its collaboration with the music festival and Beijing Music Radio, creating echoes of charming autumn colors and moving melodies in the live broadcast.
