Beijing's Qinghe River, known as the "golden belt" of Haidian, is about to be renovated. According to the Haidian District Water Affairs Bureau, one of the seven nodes in the comprehensive renovation and upgrading plan for both sides of the Qinghe River, the "Qinghe Island", has been completed and is expected to officially open during the National Day holiday this year. The water park and ecological oasis will be a great place for citizens to relax.

In the summer, the Qinghe River is rippling with blue waves, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds. As an important historical and cultural river in the Three Mountains and Five Gardens area, the Qinghe River connects the mountains in front and behind, and is a mountain and water corridor that connects the city's rivers and lakes. It is known as the natural "golden belt" of Haidian.

"Qinghe Island" is located on the north side of the Old Summer Palace, between Shucun Sluice and Information Road, with a total length of 1.1 kilometers. It is the first demonstration section of the "comprehensive renovation and upgrading plan for both sides of the Qinghe River". The entire project includes river engineering and landscaping. In the process of upgrading the river, a park was built on the north bank to form a waterfront green corridor integrating the park and the river. The total area of ecological landscape improvement and transformation is about 25 hectares.

According to the Comprehensive Renovation and Upgrading Plan for Both Sides of the Qinghe River, Haidian District will create four green ecological nodes along the Qinghe River, namely Qinghe Source, Qinghe Island, Qinghe Post, and Qinghe Bay, and build three living and leisure facilities nodes in Xiaojiahe Bridge North, Zhufang, and Xisanqi. After the project is implemented, it will connect the five streets and two towns along the Qinghe River, forming a new model of urban ecological green corridor led by the river, leading the organic renewal of the city.
