46 museums in Beijing cancel Monday closures during summer

As the summer vacation is coming to an end, the popularity of visiting museums in Beijing remains high. Recently, the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau announced that in order to meet the needs of visitors during the summer vacation, 46 museums in Beijing will cancel the policy of closing on Mondays from now until August 31st, allowing visitors to visit museums every day.

Eleven museums under the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau have cancelled the policy of closing on Mondays during the summer vacation to meet the needs of visitors. These include: Capital Museum, Beijing White Pagoda Temple Management Office, Beijing Cultural Exchange Museum (Beijing Zhihua Temple Management Office), Lao She Memorial Hall, Confucius Temple and Imperial Academy Museum, Beijing Art Museum, Xu Beihong Memorial Museum, Dazhong Temple Ancient Bell Museum, Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum, Beijing Archaeological Site Museum, and Beijing Dajue Temple and Tuancheng Management Office (including Dajue Temple and Tuancheng YW Hall).

Many museums under the central, municipal, and district governments, such as the China Railway Museum Zhengyangmen Branch, Dongjiao Exhibition Hall, Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall, Poly Art Museum, China Bee Museum, China Garden Museum, Capital Grain Museum, Beijing Guo Shoujing Memorial Hall, Wen Tianxiang Memorial Hall, and Wangfujing Paleolithic Museum, have actively responded to the call and introduced the policy of not closing on Mondays during the summer vacation.

During the summer vacation, there are also a number of non-state-owned museums that do not close on Mondays, including the Beijing Guanfu Museum, Beijing China National Ethnic Museum, Beijing China Redwood Museum, and Beijing Wenwangge Wood Art Museum. These museums have diverse categories, rich themes, and unique features, allowing visitors to enjoy a feast for the eyes.

Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau reminds visitors who plan to visit museums on Mondays to check the opening hours of the museum in advance. Next, museums will adjust the reservation system in a timely manner based on visitor flow, exhibition content, and visitor needs, actively explore a delayed opening mode suitable for the characteristics of museums in Beijing and the needs of visitors, improve the visitor experience.
