"Natural Vitality" - National Botanical Garden's Metasequoia Glyptostroboides Forest

In Beijing, there is a "misty forest" like this, with straight and tall metasequoia glyptostroboides forest, providing shade and blocking the sun. There are winding wooden plank roads, surrounded by clouds and mist. Being in it makes people feel refreshed and clear-minded. This is the Cherry Valley Metasequoia Glyptostroboides Forest located in the northern part of the National Botanical Garden.

The metasequoia glyptostroboides, a unique Quaternary glacial relic plant in our country, known as the "living fossil" of the plant kingdom, thrives here.

Every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 10:00, the Cherry Valley activates its mist system. Strolling along the walkway, wandering through the dense forest, a thin mist emerges, resembling a scene from a painting. On sunny days, sunlight brightens the lush greenery even more, revealing colorful halos on the water droplets clinging to the leaves.

The Cherry Valley scenic area in the National Botanical Garden is the only natural reserve near Beijing. It is named after the abundant wild cherries that naturally grow in the valley. It is also known as Tuigu, Shuiyuantou, Zhoujia Garden, etc. It is not only a historically significant attraction but also a fusion of natural and artificial plant communities, where various plants and animals coexist, creating a well-preserved ecological environment in a garden landscape. The Cherry Valley is filled with luxuriant trees and a thriving wilderness, dominated by widely distributed Chinese junipers, Acer buergerianum, honey locusts, and Chinese pines. They blend harmoniously with shr such as mountain apricots, yellow chestnuts, white waxberries, mountain peaches, Quercus aliena, and small-flowered buckth, creating a lush green landscape with a coverage rate of 90%. Currently, it is the largest and oldest metasequoia glyptostroboides forest in the Three-North Region of China, reflecting the changing seasons and showcasing the vitality of spring. To promote the growth of metasequoia glyptostroboides, the botanical garden has installed misting devices, allowing visitors to feel as if they have stepped into a fairyland while strolling along the walkway.

The green leaves release the "vitality of nature" through photosynthesis. Start your weekend early and come to the National Botanical Garden's Cherry Valley Metasequoia Glyptostroboides Forest to heal your body and mind in nature.
