The lotus flower, emerging from the muddy waters yet untainted, and bathing in the clear pond without losing its elegance, possesses a noble character and ethereal temperament. The sight of the lotus blossoming in a pair is even more rare and extraordinary. Known as the "gentleman among flowers," the twin lotus is considered the finest among all lotus species, symbolizing a harmonious union and everlasting love. With a single stem and two blossoms, the twin lotus represents unity, shared roots, shared blessings, and shared existence. In ancient literary works, the twin lotus is praised as a symbol of love, representing a harmonious and blissful marriage and the intertwining of romantic love between a man and a woman, as well as deep brotherly affection. According to folklore, the appearance of the twin lotus is an auspicious sign.
This year, there have been 5 twin lotuses spotted in the Yuanmingyuan Park, and 10 twin lotuses discovered in the Lianhuachi Park, delighting visitors with their beauty.
