He even traveled to Hainan Island, which was not open to foreigners at the time, with the assistance of the China Photographers Association. During his visits, he shot around 700 rolls of film, capturing over 8,000 color photographs. From these, he selected 116 images and published the photography collection "Dear Old Days" in 1983. Droning On

Address: Wind H Art Center · Xuan Hall, 751 Art Zone, Chaoyang District

Dates: July 15th, 2023 - September 17th, 2023

Wind H Art Center · Xuan Hall will host the group exhibition "Droning On " starting from July 15th, 2023. Curated by Miao Zijin, the exhibition features the latest works by six artists: Chen Zhou, Lin Aojie, Li Jingxiong, Lu Pingyuan, Tao Hui, and Wang Ziquan. The exhibited works span various mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, text, performance art, and video art.

"Droning On" aims to showcase the ongoing systematic dialogues between humans and their surroundings in universal or intimate ways. The six artists explore the spatial narratives and aesthetic orders that can be shaped by materiality, emotions, and beliefs based on their conceptual blueprints. The exhibition serves as a medium for negotiating with unseen forces and as a decentralized field for information production, constantly pushing the boundaries established by governed technologies and reaching unpredictable and mysterious situations. If the repetitive exploration is ultimately proven futile, we can be emotional and embrace the guidance of intuition.
