Binhe Forest Park, spending summer in the woods

Although this park in Changping is called a "forest" park, its main attractions are closely related to water. Located north of the Shisanling Reservoir (Ming Tombs Reservoir) and south of the Jingmi Diversion Canal, it serves as an important link between the reservoir and the urban area.

As a wetland-type forest park, it is home to many wild birds that are not commonly seen in urban parks, such as black swans, Eurasian spoonbills, and brown-breasted woodpeckers. Compared to ordinary parks, it has a more natural and wild charm.

The southern area of the park is an excellent camping site, with a panoramic view of the lake. Exploring deeper into the park allows you to enjoy a peaceful and serene environment.

China National Botanical Garden, Beijing's forest oxygen bar

The lush China National Botanical Garden has always been a natural oxygen bar in Beijing. Since the expansion of the park, the richness of plant species has multiplied. On weekend mornings from 9:00 to 10:00, the Metasequoia Forest will transform into a "fairyland" mode. After a wide-range artificial mist spray, there is a chance to see crepuscular rays.

Roses, belonging to the Rosaceae family, come with a fairytale filter. In early summer, when roses are in full bloom, the garden is filled with a splendid array of red, pink, yellow, and white flowers.

In mid-June, the heat is intense, so it is recommended to visit in the morning and avoid the scorching afternoon sun. Being there allows you to not only seek shade under the trees but also experience the charm of plants up close.
