Grain in Ear, 芒种 máng zhòng
Grain in Ear, also known as Mang Zhong, is the ninth solar term of the 24 solar terms, and the third solar term of summer. It usually falls on the beginning of June. The Chinese word "Mang Zhong" is a pun on "busy planting" in Chinese, which is also an accurate description of farmers' life during the period. With an increase in temperature, abundant rainfall, and high air humidity during this solar term, it is suitable for planting crops such as late rice and other grains.
Anmiao

The steamed buns are used as sacrificial offerings to pray for abundant grains and the safety of the villagers.
