Xinzhong Street Urban Forest Park  

Xinzhong Street Urban Forest Park is located on the northwest side of the Workers' Gymnasium, with a total area of more than 11,000 square meters, which is the first urban forest park built in Dongcheng District.  

The park creates a near-natural forest landscape by rationally dividing the landscape area.

The park includes dense forest areas, sparse forest areas, science popularization areas and other landscape areas. Using landscape to its advantage, the surrounding area of the park is planted with large trees to form a dense forest area, the central part is based on the original two large-sized poplars to form a sparse forest area, providing a leisure activity site under the forest. The western part is planted with the vigorous and simple century-old acacia tree. This is a science popularization display area for carrying out the popularization of ecological knowledge with the aim to better protect them. 

The plants in the park are based on native tree species and new colorful leaf trees, highlighting forest characteristics and creating a multi-type habitat environment for birds and insects.

The park also uses tree stumps, branches, bamboo tubes, porous bricks, tiles and other materials to build an "insect house", and holes of different sizes to create a habitat environment for different insects, increasing the diversity of insects in the park. 

In addition, the forest square of the park adopts a new environmentally friendly paving of garden waste, which is non-toxic, permeable and degradable. Pebble ditches and biological retention ponds form rainfall collection green spaces, exert a sponge effect, and effectively absorb surface runoff.
