The China Great Wall Museum is located in a north-south valley west of Badaling Guancheng. The valley is called Guntiangou and has been a transportation hub area for scenic spots because it is separated from the Badaling Great Wall by a ridge. The China Great Wall Museum is located on a 10-meter-high terrace on the east side of the valley. It is a Great Wall theme museum, comprehensively reflecting the history, military, architecture, economy, culture and art and current situation of the Great Wall.

The exhibition includes cultural relics and specimens unearthed along the Great Wall across the country, supplemented by charts, photos, cultural landscapes and models, and uses multimedia means such as touch screens and projectors to display the Great Wall, the symbol of the Chinese nation, in an all-round way.

The architecture of the building is unique; the shape is like a conjoined beacon tower and the internal exhibition is arranged like the undulating road of the Great Wall. From the inside to the outside, the broad and profound cultural atmosphere of the Great Wall can be felt everywhere. Juyongguan Yuntai, Juyongguan Great Wall Museum

Juyongguan Great Wall is located in a canyon 20 kilometers north of Changping County. Juyong Pass is the gateway to Beijing from the north. The Juyongguan Great Wall Museum is located in the famous Juyongguan Great Wall Scenic Area.

The Juyongguan Great Wall, known as "the greatest pass in the world", is a representative of the Ming Great Wall, located in the mountains northwest of Beijing, and has been a battleground of great military significance since ancient times. To this day, it is still Beijing's main transportation route to Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and other places, and takes a special strategic position.

After entering Guangou from the south exit, visitors can see the mountains on both sides and the flowing streams. The view is like a green wave when you look over from far away. Therefore, as early as the Jin Dynasty, it was listed as one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Yanjing". Qianlong once personally inscribed the four characters "Juyong Diecui" and built the Yubei Pavilion. Although the stone stele with Qianlong's words has not been found, Pu Yi's young brother, Pu Jie's inscription of "Juyong Diecui" can still be seen there.

Speaking of Juyongguan, we have to mention Yuntai. Juyongguan's Yuntai is all made of marble, and its relief is the most important piece of Tibetan Buddhist sculpture in the Yuan Dynasty. The reliefs have a grand scale, complex content and meticulous carving, including various heavenly gods in Lamaism, some symbolic animals, dragons, clouds and other shapes, which is a masterpiece in the stone carving art of the Yuan Dynasty.

The Juyongguan Great Wall Museum was officially opened to the public on August 26, 2004. The museum building is a typical Beijing courtyard, and the courtyard is a restored Ming Dynasty building, Diecui Academy, which was a school in Juyongguan in the Ming Dynasty. The location of the museum has far-reaching meaning as it inherits the cultural connotation of Ming Dynasty architecture. Through 3 exhibition rooms, 6 parts and artefacts on display outdoors, the museum condenses and summarizes the development history of Juyongguan with a history of more than 2,000 years. The history of Juyongguan is systematically introduced from many aspects such as military culture, historical events and cultural relics and buildings, and the prosperity and the important role of Juyongguan are comprehensively represented.
