Magnolia Season Come Around | China National Botanical Garden and Beijing International Sculpture Park

2023-03-23

China National Botanical Garden North Park

The National Botanical Garden in spring can be called a "sea of flowers". Every year from the end of March, 14 varieties of magnolia are blooming one after another. The tallest tree is more than 10 meters, the oldest tree is more than 50 years old, and the flowering period can last until around Labor Day.

Magnolia flowers in the China National Botanical Garden are mainly concentrated in two areas of the North Park, namely the Magnolia viewing area in the Arboretum in the Botanical Exhibition Area and the Magnolia Garden on the west side of Qianpo Road at Wofo Temple.

During the blossom season, in the magnolia viewing area of the arboretum, the spring magnolia is pink and white, and the huge petals fly in the wind, which is delicate and charming. The magnolia garden under the Wofo Temple is a different scene: on the tall magnolia trees, the white magnolia flowers are like hibiscus out of the water, elegant and beautiful, and especially gentle.
