The Spring Equinox is the fourth solar term of the Chinese traditional 24 solar terms. It  starts on March 21 and ends on April 4 this year. On the Spring Equinox, most areas of China are full of vitality and the Chinese nation has many interesting customs.

Egg-standing games

People like to find a smooth, well-proportioned fresh egg and try to stand it up on the table. It is not easy for an egg to stand up so the fun is generated through repeated attempts and failures. The Spring Equinox has become the best time to play the game.

Reward farm cattle

After the Spring Equinox, farm cattle start to become busy so sticky rice balls will be rewarded to thank for their hard work. At the same time, farmer will also make sacrifice to birds, thanking them for reminding the farming time, and hoping that birds do not peck at the grain.
