Xi Shan Qing Xue

The Xishan Range in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing is known as the "Right Arm of Beijing". Xishan refers to the general name of the continuous mountain range in the western suburbs of Beijing, which is a residual vein of the Taihang Mountains.

As one of the eight scenic spots of Yanjing, "Xi Shan Qing Xue" refers not only to the scene of silver snow on Xishan but also to the landscape of thousands of trees and apricot blossoms covering Xishan in early spring and March, becoming the only landscape of "one place, two views" among the eight scenic spots of Yanjing.

In recent years, Beijing Xishan National Forest Park has continuously increased the restoration and creation of the spring landscapes, planting more than 100,000 new mountain peach and apricot trees, reproducing the grand situation of "Xi Shan Qing Xue". Every year in mid-to-late March, the best place to see the view is in the "Plum Garden" area of the park. Located in the southern part of the park, the plum garden is surrounded by mountains and peaks on three sides, and the sea of flowers is like snow, and the spring light is shaking like water. Walking through the path under the forest, you can see the falling petals and smell the overflowing fragrance, which is very pleasant.

At present, "Xi Shan Qing Xue" has become a famous landscape of Xishan National Forest Park and a must-see landscape for tourists to enjoy flowers in spring.

Ji Men Yan Shu

The name of the scenery of the eight views of Yanjing's "Ji Men Yan Shu" is taken from the poem "Qincheng" by the Tang Dynasty poet Li Yi. The name means mist and trees in the ancient city of Jizhou.

This view is located south of the Jixen Bridge of the North Third Ring Road of present-day Beijing. The "Ji Men" refers to the western section of the Yuandadu City Wall site north of Xizhimen. This section of the wall is built of rammed earth. After the Ming army captured Dadu at the end of the Yuan dynasty, the north side of the Yuandadu city wall was moved five miles south, the section of the wall referred to by the Ji Men Yan Shu was destroyed, and trees grew on the site of the rammed earth city wall, so it was called that name.
