On February 27th, 2023 launch ceremony of “Charming Beijing” TV series and overseas communication achievements exhibition was held in Metaverse Experience Center of Shougang Park, Beijing.

“Charming Beijing” TV series overseas communication activity is built by CRI Online aiming to promote Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. First launched in 2019, the series has invited film crews from over ten countries including Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Russia, Japan, Serbia, Italy, Croatia and South Korea come to Beijing to conduct interviews and film shooting, and the TV series has received a great popularity after airing in above countries.

2022 marks the year of Beijing 2022, China-Italy Year of Culture and Tourism as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-ROK and China-Croatia diplomatic relations. In the cause of telling Beijing’s development story as the capital in the new era and presenting Beijing’s best image to more countries and groups, “Charming Beijing” TV series overseas communication activity especially invited film crews from Italy, South Korea and Croatia to walk into Summer Palace, Tongzhou Grand Canal, Yangmeizhu Byway Hutong, Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum, Capital Museum, Beijing National Speed Skating Oval, Metaverse Experience Center of Shougang Park and so on, focusing on humanity, technology and innovation as well as ecology of the city, so that more international friends may fall in love with Beijing by getting to know Beijing’s multiple charms as the “Dual Olympic City” through the lens.

It is reported that “Charming Beijing” TV series overseas communication activity keeps carrying on the mission of telling Chinese story in 2023, inviting more film crews from different countries come to China to conduct interviews and shooting, endeavoring to present a multi-facet Beijing to the world and opening a window for foreign friends where they may learn more about Beijing and fall in love with it.
