Master of Peking Opera
Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall

Established in October 1986, Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall is a typical quadrangle courtyard, originally part of the royal palace of Prince Qing in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1951, the outstanding Peking Opera performance artist Mei Lanfang moved here and spent the last decade of his life.
The memorial hall is divided into two parts: the main courtyard and the outer courtyard. The main courtyard preserves the original appearance of the former residence. The east and west exhibition rooms are special exhibitions, and the exhibition content is updated from time to time. The outer courtyard is the "Life Exhibition of Mei Lanfang".
The "Life Exhibition of Mei Lanfang" shows the artistic and social life of Mei Lanfang with a large number of precious pictures and physical materials.
The former residence includes a reception room, living room, study and bedroom, which is where Mei Lanfang lives and works, and the interior furnishings are basically displayed according to the original appearance. We can relate to the scenes in which he lived and worked.

Come outside to enjoy the "Mei Lanfang's Visit to the United States Peking Opera Atlas". In order to carry forward the Chinese opera to foreign countries and let the American audience better understand and understand Chinese Peking Opera, Qi Rushan, in the name of the Chinese Opera Society, invited a painter to draw the costumes, faces, etc. of Peking Opera that can be expressed with pictures, and annotated and explained them in Chinese and English.
