Six years later, Dengzhou flooded and Xue Xiangling was separated from her family and forced to work as a nanny in the Lu family. When she accompanied the child to play, she found the Suolin pouch in the attic and cried. Mrs. Lu happened to be Zhao Shouzhen of that year. Zhao asked the reason and learned that Xue Xiangling was the donor of the pouch and the two became sisters.

Legend of the White Snake

"The Legend of the White Snake" is one of the long-standing mythological stories of Chinese people. It is said that Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing, the snake fairies who practiced in Emei Mountain, came to Jiangnan. They happened to meet Xu Xian while traveling to West Lake together. Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian fell in love at first sight, married each other, and lived happily. But the monk Fahai of Jinshan Temple told Xu Xian that Bai Suzhen was a thousand-year-old snake demon, and Xu Xian suspiciously persuaded Bai Suzhen to drink Xionghuang wine during the Duanyang Festival. Then Bai Suzhen appeared in her original form, which scared Xu Xian to death. Bai Suzhen ventured up the Immortal Mountain to steal immortal grass to save Xu Xian. Fahai arrested Xu Xian at the Jinshan Temple. Bai Suzhen tried to save Xu Xian by casting a spell to flood Jinshan, but she failed because she was pregnant. Xu Xian escaped and reunited with Bai Suzhen at the broken bridge. Bai Suzhen explained to Xu Xian what was going on and the two were reconciled. After the birth of the child, Bai Suzhen was caught in a bowl by Fahai and the bowl was placed under the Leifeng Pagoda.
