Zijin Hotel (the former site of the Belgian Embassy) is a European-style courtyard covering an area of about 14,000 square meters, with a large scale and elegant dignity. Formerly known as the Belgian Embassy in China, the overall architecture is the eclectic style popular in Europe and America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As an architectural relic witnessing China's modern history, its identity has changed several times, from the Belgian Embassy in China, to the No. 14  State Guesthouse after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and then officially renamed Zijin Hotel in 1986, which has a history of more than a century so far. Nowadays, it is not only the fifth batch of national major historical and cultural sites, but also becomes the unique cultural heritage of Beijing.
