Guyaju Scenic Area is located in the gorge at the foot of the Haituo Mountain. It is composed of groups of artificial grottoes, distributed on the cliff about 100,000 square meters. It is divided into the front, middle and back areas, which choke the mountain and guard the pass, like a military fortress. Like Badaling Great Wall, Guyaju Scenic Area is a magical and spectacular cultural relic inherited from ancient people in the Yanqing District, which can be called a mystery or wonder.
There are 137 hand-carved stone rooms scattered on both sides of the quiet valley. They are carved in various structures: some parallel suites, some double rooms, and some resemble three rooms. Stone rooms are connected by stone steps and plank roads, which is the largest cliff dwelling site ever found in the north of China. All 137 stone rooms have no columns or beams, but the structure of the building can be set out; No ladder, no board, but there are connective layers. And all the stone rooms are in line with the aesthetic rules whether circle or square. The origin of Guyaju Scenic Area still remains an ancient mystery, but through a magnificent and exquisite craft, it annotates the magical achievements of ancient architecture.
