Gan Luan Sui (the twenty-fifth day of the twelfth lunar month): Jie Yu Huang, paste paper-cuts to window

According to folk belief, the Jade Emperor will descend to the earth on the twenty-fifth day of the twelfth lunar month, inspecting for the goodness and evilness and determining the weal and woe. On that day, Chinese people will "Jie Yu Huang", or welcome the Jade Emperor to bless the good fortune in the next year by offering sacrifices. It is also an auspicious day for arranging marriage.

Apart from these, there are also customs including grinding soybeans, making tofu and pasting paper-cuts to window. With social development, pasting paper-cuts, the Chinese character Fu, and writing Spring Festival couplets still linger nowadays.
