House Cleaning Day (the twenty-fourth day of the twelfth lunar month): Clean houses

The twenty-fourth day of the twelfth lunar month is normally recognized as the traditional House Cleaning Day when the Spring Festival will come next week. Every household in China will do home cleaning and sweep clean every corner of their houses. Chinese people will cover appliances first to insulate them from the dust and then sweep clean the walls and roof of houses to clean up the dirt and the old of the past year and usher in the new in the future.
