Xianrendong Vegetarian Feast

Kangling Spring Pancake Feast

There is a story about the Spring Pancake Feast. Legend has it that "spring pancakes" originated from the Ming Dynasty during the Zhengde period. Emperor Zhengde found it inconvenient to bring food with him whenever he went on a trip and was so delighted to eat spring pancakes that he mainly ate them on his trips from then on. So, the "spring pancake banquet" was also called the royal fast food. The fresh meat used in the feast is fatty but not greasy, and lean but not tough. Laogao Banquet

Rolling Donkey

Also called bean flour cake, the rolling donkey is a traditional Beijing snack. According to legend, Ma Wu, a Han general, was stationed in Shangkou Village in Changping district, and now the garrison site is a scenic spot called "Ma Wu Zhai". It is said that Ma Wu invented the "rolling donkey" to boost the appetite of soldiers. Nowadays, the diligent and wise villagers dressed in Han Dynasty farming costumes develop a variety of "rolling donkey" based on traditional craftsmanship. Visitors who come to the village are welcome to taste it.
