Beijing Winter Olympics Park is located in the western part of Shijingshan District, along the Yongding River, next to Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and the Big Air Shougang. The park has a total area of about 1,142 hectares. By integrating the current parks, such as Marathon Base Camp and Lianshihu Park, and relying on the natural landscape, history and culture, industrial heritage and other resources, the park carries out ecological restoration and environmental quality improvement, forming an urban waterfront open space with water and greenery, urban landscape penetration, pro-people sharing and prominent Winter Olympics elements.

The park forms various types of characteristic landscapes, such as the Snow Wonderland, the Bridges World, Beijing Waterspace, and organically combines the surrounding Shougang factory, the Big Air, the Xinshougang Bridge and other urban landscapes together to create a green and vibrant “urban forest”.

The construction of Beijing Winter Olympics Park is an important measure for Shijingshan District to serve and guarantee the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and to create a new landmark for the urban rejuvenation of the capital in the new era. It’s also an important carrier to spread the culture of the Winter Olympics and inherit the culture of the Xishan Mountain-Yongding River, as well as an important practice for the re-protection and reuse of industrial relics.
