Last night, the large-scale cultural program "China in Poetry and Painting" came to an end, leading the audience to feel the poetic life of the ancients and appreciate the cultural charm of Dunhuang. The program uses XR, CG, naked eye 3D, holographic images and other modern scientific and technological means to digitally interpret the beauty of poetry and painting. Recently, Wang Zugang, the visual director of the program and the director of the Information Art Design Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, accepted an exclusive interview to reveal the behind-scenes story that makes the ancient paintings move.
"Poetry and Painting of China" combines the traditional Chinese culture of poetry, books, painting, piano, drum, music, dance, drama, reciting and other forms of art, to present a delightful picture of the Chinese culture for the audience.
In the third episode of the program, Han Haolin, a young actor wearing VR glasses, entered a Southern Song Dynasty work, "The Knickknack Peddler", and embarked on a magical and thrilling journey under the guidance of a small clay figure. "The groceries in the picture are loaded, but the details of each item are not enough, so we invited experts from the Palace Museum to analyze the items and determine details such as their shape, craftsmanship and texture." Wang Zhigang said.
According to reports, the creation team spent about two months to model and restore more than 300 items through three-dimensional reconstruction technology on the basis of a full study of "The Knickknack Peddler" and related literature. Following Han Haolin's microscopic perspective, the audience can feel the rich details of the goods up close.
