The platform of the shoes, or the "flower-pot-soles" (huapen di), is decorated with stained glass in designs of sriratsa, bats, and ribbons that create a rebus that can be read "Ten thousand generations enjoying happiness and longevity" (Wandai fushou). This pair of shoes was made in the Qing Imperial Workshops. The vamp is embroidered with motifs of bamboo and butterflies. Gold thread cords are attached around the top edge.
The "flower-pot-soles" were also named "horse-hoof-soles"(mati di) because of the shape of the platform. Shoes for the imperial ladies of the Qing dynasty were designed into three fashions: "ingot-soles" (yuanbao di), "flower-pot-soles", and high-soled shoes.
