Haidian Park

The weeping willows and swaying Pampas grass in Haidian Park bring it a rich beauty of Jiangnan (regions south of the Yangtze River). It has the most open lawn, which has always been popular with the public, who come here for a leisurely walk and spend a pleasant time.

Beiwu Park

Located at the foot of Yuquan Mountain in Haidian District, Beiwu Park is close to the Summer Palace and Yuquan Mountain, and its scenery and style are complementary to the Summer Palace and Yuquan Mountain. The scenery, vegetation and sculptures in the park are appropriate to the environment and enhance the overall quality of the park.

Beiwu Park covers an area of 711 mu (47.4 hectares) and is divided into East Park and West Park. The design style of the park highlights both the historical cultural deposits and has a modern atmosphere. The East Park borrows landscape from the Summer Palace and Yuquan Mountain, and contains four major scenic spots. The West Park is located in the north side of the Beiwu Jiayuan, there are large and small open spaces in it for the people living around to relax, entertain and organize festive celebrations. Basketball courts and other sports facilities will also be built in the park to meet the people’s needs.

If you come here, you will surely linger and forget to go back. Its positioning is different from both country parks and city parks, and it can be said to be a landscape garden with both historical cultural deposits and modern atmosphere.

Fragrant Hills Park

Located at the eastern foot of the Xiaoxishan Mountain Range in the northwestern suburb of Beijing, Fragrant Hills Park is a famous large mountain forest park with the characteristics of a royal garden. It was first built in the 26th year of Dading in Jin Dynasty (1186 A.D.), and has a history of more than 800 years. In the park, the terrain is rugged and steep, the hills are rolling, the peaks are lush, the springs are abundant and the forests are dense. There are more than 5,800 famous ancient trees in the park, and the forest coverage rate is as high as 98%, which is one of the areas with the highest negative oxygen ions in Beijing.

Every year in mid to late October, the best viewing period of Fragrant Hills comes as scheduled. The red leaves of Fragrant Hill include more than 30 species, such as smoke tree, Shantung maple, trident maple, mono maple, Japanese maple, rhus typhina and so on. Among them, smoke tree is the most representative of Beijing Fragrant Hills and has the longest history of cultivation. In addition to smoke tree, there are also colored-leaf species such as red maple, mono maple and Japanese maple and so on.

The best lot for viewing the red leaves of Fragrant Hills is Nanshan (Southern Mountain), where you can see the panoramic view of Beijing city, the Kunming Lake of the Summer Palace and the Central Radio & Television Tower while viewing the red leaves, meaning that you can get a bird’s-eye view here. At the East Gate, Jingcui Lake, Zhisong Garden and Glasses Lake, new species of trees such as Freeman maple and Lihong maple also enrich the varieties of red leaves.

As the weather gets cooler, the red leaves of Fragrant Hills gradually change color. When you climb up the Reindeer Slope, Toad Peak, Seng Yu Wu, Langfeng Pavilion, or along the north wall and climbing up the Incense-Burner Peak, you will see all the mountains in red and all the red leaves floating. At the same time, the wild chrysanthemums on Fragrant Hills are also in full bloom and will recreate the beautiful scenery of "the mountains and forests toward the city, while the red leaves and yellow flowers making a beauty".

Xishan National Forest Park

Beijing Xishan National Forest Park is the closest forest park to the city, the ecological barrier of Xishan (Western Hills), and a beautiful Xishan painted screen for Haidian District, a landscape, a waterfall, a green shade, all can make people feel relaxed and enjoy the beauty of time.

The Xishan National Forest Park is enveloped in the fog, which is quiet, silence and relaxing. The spraying system sprays tiny water droplets, which float with the wind and surround the mountains, creating a refreshing scene of " rain has just fallen on the mountain and freshened it up".
