Since 2016, when the Central Institute of Culture and Tourism Management, Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau and Shijingshan District People's Government jointly established the National Square Dance Training Base, more than 300 square dance leaders in Shijingshan district have been cultivated from culture-led direction, and the Dance in Shijingshan activity has been held for six consecutive years. The event originally produced three works, including People are all that matter to the nation, Singing and Dancing with Peking Opera and the theme song Shijingshan, and 37 works were selected from the Beijing community at the same time.

Singing and Dancing with Peking Opera is a collaboration between Shijingshan District Cultural Center, the National Peking Opera Company and the teachers of Beijing Dance Academy, It aims to promote the organic combination of niche Peking Opera and popular square dance, to better interpret the important role of national essence in Chinese traditional culture, and to guide the spread of Peking Opera among the people and promote learning.
