More than 80,000 seat covers were added to the National Stadium for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games for the audience, which also decorated the opening and closing ceremonies. Now, after professional cleaning and elaborate design, these seat covers have been transformed into "cultural and creative bags".

It is understood that the "Bird's Nest" Winter Olympic Games seat covers are made of strong and durable, lightweight, and comfortable high-stretch mesh. The fabric also adds flame retardant to meet the fire prevention requirements of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games and the Winter Paralympic Games' opening and closing ceremonies. After the Winter Olympics, the venue's operations team wants to make innovative use of this Winter Olympics legacy in an environmentally friendly way, considering that the outdoor environment where the stadium isn't conducive to the long-term preservation of the seat covers.

After rounds of discussion and brainstorming, the "Cultural and Creative Package" was the first choice for the project considering the size of the seat covers. After testing and adjusting, the seat covers with snowflake elements were designed into different models. Winter Olympic elements are woven into the straps of the bags, which are also equipped with a unique code plate that corresponds to the seat numbers of the stands and additional accessories such as lining and zips.

According to the stadium, since 29 October, three types of "cultural and creative bags", namely carrying bags, satchels, and computer bags will be available on the Nest Ticket WeChat Mini Program. Other creative products using seat covers are also being developed and tested. In the future, all these Winter Olympics seat covers will be reused in an environmentally friendly way, leaving special memories of the Winter Olympics for the public.
