The play, also known as "Shizi Po", is based on Shi Nai'an's novel "The Water Margin". It is a short martial arts play by Gai Jiaotian, who has been training his kung fu for sixty years. Gai and his partner Qi Caifen, performed in real conditions and exhibited a beauty in danger.

The play tells the story of Pan Jinlian, who killed her husband, and Wu Song, who killed Pan, his sister-in-law to avenge his brother's death. He passed the Shizi Po for a drink, when he was exiled to Mengzhou. The weather was so hot that even the stone could melt. The deputy undid the bag for Wu Song, removed the seal, and uncuffed him.

Sun Erniang, who was good at robbery, assassinated them at midnight for money. Wu Song, however, was aware of this and fought back in the dark. The innkeeper, Sunqing, came to assist, and therefore the Sun couple came to know the hero who killed a tiger.
