2022-10-12

First performed in 2021, "The night of Xiangshan" is a key play jointly launched by the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Beijing People's Art Theatre to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Written by Li Baoqun, directed by Ren Ming, the play is performed by Wang Ban and Fang Xu. It is the artistic contribution of B Beijing People's Art Theatre to the creation of major revolutionary historical themes.

The drama is different from other works of the same theme. It does not just tell a story, but takes the important historical juncture of the PLA's forced crossing of the Yangtze River and the liberation of Nanjing on the evening of April 23, 1949. It comprehensively traces back the history of the party's new democratic revolution and shows the party's struggle process through the trans-dimensional spiritual dialogue"between Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai shek. It  reveals the profound theme that the reason why the Communist Party of China has won the victory and continued to develop and grow is that it has always been seeking rejuvenation for China and happiness for the people.
