On the August 26, the first floor of Drum Tower was restored to its original historical appearance after being vacated and repaired. It was opened to the public for the first time. A new digital immersion exhibition was unveiled, leading the audience to travel through the ancient and modern times and explore the "The Story of Time" on the Bell Tower and Drum Tower and the central axis.
On the first floor of Drum Tower, the space of 7 gate arches is fully utilized to present the exhibition called "The Story of Time". There are 6 themed exhibition halls, including Preface Hall, including "Beijing Time", "Time Architecture", "China Time", "My Time" and "Central Axis Discovery". There is also a central gate arch immersion exhibition hall. The exhibition has a total of 10 collections and 48 auxiliary exhibits and installations, 12 interactive experience exhibits and 6 digital films.
At the northern end of Beijing's central axis, Drum Tower and Bell Tower stand quietly. The "Twilight Drum and Morning Bell" that once sounded here reported the standard "Beijing Time", which is the deepest memory of the old city of Beijing.
