Established by Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Qunxing Award is the highest government award in the field of mass culture and art to prosper mass literary and artistic creation and promote the development of socialist cultural undertakings.

Qunxing Award has been held every three years since 2004. It has already been successfully held for 18 sessions up to now. As an important part of China Art Festival, Qunxing Award is divided into primary selection, semi-finals and final. The final of Qunxing Award will be held simultaneously with the China Art Festival.

In 2022, the 19th Qunxing Award, together with the 13th China Art Festival, will be jointly held by Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, and the final will be held at the same time. According to requirements of Ministry of Culture and Tourism, all regions will participate in the competition of six categories of works of dance, music, drama, Chinese folk art, square dance and chorus. As one of the hosts of Qunxing Award this year, Beijing has 10 programs entered the final, ranking first in the country.
