Tianjin Grand Theatre is located on the east side of the central sign area of Tianjin Cultural Centre in Hexi District, Tianjin. It is also the largest cultural venue in Tianjin Cultural Centre. Tianjin Grand Theatre is a modernist building. Construction of the new Tianjin Grand Theatre started in 2009. It was completed and put into use on April 22, 2012. It has a total construction area of 105,000 square meters and can accommodate 3,600 spectators at a total cost of RMB 1.533 billion.
Tianjin Grand Theatre can stage various art programs such as operas, dance dramas, musicals, symphonies, dramas and operas, with an average of 300 performances per year.

1. The Orphan of Zhao (《赵氏孤儿》)
The Orphan of Zhao is based on "tragic aesthetics" and presents the epic "Spring and Autumn Period" at its peak. The perspective and narrative structure of the whole performance is unique. The stage beauty, lighting, sound effects, costume styling and other aspects are all exquisite.

2. Thunderstorm (《雷雨》)
In 1934, Cao Yu's drama debut Thunderstorm came out, which is of great significance to modern Chinese drama and is considered to be a sign of the maturity of modern Chinese drama. Mr. Cao Yu is also known as "Shakespeare of the East". Thunderstorm will be performed by Tianjin People’s Art Theatre at Tianjin Grand Theatre.
