Chang'an Grand Theater was built in 1937, and its original site was located on the bustling commercial street of Xidan, Beijing. Due to the needs of municipal construction, the new site is located at No.7 Jianguomen Inner Street, Dongcheng District.
The front of the building adopts the fashionable sapphire blue glass appearance, and the top floor imitates the gold colored glazed tiles. Just in front of the building stands a Beijing Opera Face Art Statue, simple and vivid. With its unique geographical location, it continues its glorious history, carries the responsibility of carrying forward national traditional culture, and affects the hearts of new and old audiences at home and abroad.
Chang'an Grand Theater can provide lots of many classic and famous repertoires, such as Yang Silang Visits His Mother (《四郎探母》), Mu Guiying Taking Command (《穆桂英挂帅》), Legend of White Snake (《白蛇传》), etc.
As a time-honored theater, Chang'an Grand Theater maintains a theater utilization rate of nearly 100% every year. It can be said that Chang'an Grand Theater has performances every day. In the setting of the performance ticket price, a large proportion of 50 yuan and 100 yuan low-priced tickets of people and exclusive senior seats have been reserved for the audience.

Recent Performances
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the naming of Beijing Qu Opera (北京曲剧), 8 classic plays of Lao She are staged for 17 performances at the Chang'an Grand Theater. On the evening of August 25, Lao Zhang's Philosophy (《老张的哲学》) will be presented.
In addition, Peking Opera will be also performed here recently. Yang Silang Visits His Mother, Monkey King (《齐天大圣》) and The Orphan of Zhao Family (《赵氏孤儿》) will be staged in September and October.
