Recently, China International Communications Group (CICG, 中国国际传播集团) released an announcement about the Orchid Awards (hereinafter referred to as "the Awards") on its official website. 

Initiated by CICG, the Awards aims to strengthen the cultural foundation for creating a global community with a shared future, promote universal human values, and promote cultural exchanges between China and the rest of world as well as mutual learning between world civilizations. The Awards will broadly focus on the cultural sectors and recognize and honor non-Chinese individuals and organizations that have contributed to international cultural exchanges and who have made a commitment to advancing cross-cultural understanding between Chinese and other civilizations. The Awards shall choose winners in a reputable, fair, and transparent way.

Based on accomplishments, contributions, and global influence, the Awards will be given to non-Chinese nationals or organizations globally in three categories: Lifetime Honorary Prize, Outstanding Achievement Prize, and Friendship Envoy Prize. The Awards will be given to eight to ten people or organizations in 2022.
