DAY2
Yongning Ancient Town
Located 17 kilometres from the centre of Yanqing, Yongning Old Town is a quiet, beautiful and ancient place, simple and pure, peaceful and tranquil. There are sights such as the Jade Emperor Pavilion, ancient streets and temples to visit.
A must-try food here is Yongning tofu. It has been recorded since the Han Dynasty and became a tribute to the court during the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of being made by every family and has been handed down to this day for its unique production process and rich nutritional value. There are tofu sellers every three or five steps in the old town, and many tourists come here to take some back with them.
You can't miss Yongning's fire roast either! Baked in a natural fireplace, they have a fleshy, peppery aroma and are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and can be eaten with everything in between, satisfying your taste buds.
Go ahead, visit this "niche" ancient city, see the smoky atmosphere of the streets, the old people sitting around playing chess, touch the raised brick walls of the city, the word "leisure" comes from your heart.
