1. Shougang Extreme Sports Park (首钢极限公园)
This loft-style, chic and cool sport park is a renovation of old industrial remains. Here you can partake in skateboarding, rock climbing and many other extreme sports, or dance to music with strong steady beat. On holidays and festivals, it will host a great variety of events, including theme carnivals and parent- child activities including rock climbing. 2. Shijingshan Citizens' Ice and Snow Sports Center (石景山市民冰雪运动中心)
Nicknamed as "White Mushroom" after its exterior appearance, it features three ice skating rinks using the advanced membrane technology. Housing an area of 28,000 square meters, it includes two Olympic -stand ice rinks, each 1,800 square meters. In addition to indoor ice rinks, there is also the snow playground, the rehabilitation area, the trampoline zone, indoor basketball courts, indoor badminton courts and an indoor gym to entertain visitors. Reservation in advance is advised because the sports center is often booked for training.
3. Shijingshan Sports Center (石景山体育中心)
It is one of the first sports venues in Shijingshan Districts. The three up-ward-pointing eaves make it look like a space shuttle that is ready to be launched.
It is busy because of the sport events. The steel-and-concrete Shijingshan Stadium is with enclosed stands. Covering 72,000 square meters, it has eight 400m running tracks, a standard plastic-rubber athletic field and a standard turf pitch for international football matches. The 12 stands can accommodate more than 20,000 spectators.
4. Shougang Basketball Center (首钢篮球中心)
Boasting first-class facilities, Shougang Basketball Center, is a modern, multi-functional venue capable of hosting sports events, entertainment and leisure events, performances and exhibitions. It is capable of meeting the people's needs for game spectating, fitness, sports and entertainment.
5. GASC Laoshan National Fitness Base (国际体育总局老山全民健身基地)
It is an all purpose sport & fitness base, and all its facilities were built and used for the Beijing 2008 Games, making it an Olympic venue. It is also one of the important comprehensive training bases of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), and can host professional training in the non-snow season for summer Olympic events such as cycling, fencing, modern pentathlon, triathlon and equestrian, and winter Olympic events such as cross-country skiing and biathlon, not to mention the daily fitness demands of ordinary citizens.
