On the morning of August 1, Ma Weiping, the grandson of Ma Jun, a famous early leader of the Chinese Communist Party and a revolutionary martyr, and former deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres came to Taoranting Park to tell visitors the glorious revolutionary deeds of Ma Jun. This is also the first activity of the series of "Taoran stories" cultural activities in Taoranting Park. In the next two months, citizens and visitors can listen to salon lectures in the park and experience a variety of cultural activities such as red culture, party history education, the twenty-four solar terms of Taoranting, and pavilion culture.

"The early communists, represented by Ma Jun, grew up in the Age of Awakening, struggling for their ideals and sacrificing for their beliefs." Ma Weiping told the story of the revolutionary spirit passed down through the ages. Zhang Shiqiang, Deputy Secretary General of the Beijing History Geography Folk-custom, told the story of Aiwan Pavilion and Chairman Mao Zedong, and the glorious deeds of Chairman Mao in leading the Autumn Harvest Uprising and building our party and army.

"I used to come to the park when I was a child, and now Taoranting is different from the past. It not only has rich natural and cultural landscapes but also precious red resources." Zhang Ru, a resident of Nancheng who was invited to listen to the lecture, told reporters that she would often bring her children to the park to cherish the memory of the martyrs and feel the inculcation of red culture.

The reporter learned that the "Taoran story" series activities will continue until October. At the beginning of autumn, Mid-Autumn Festival, Chongyang Festival, and National Day, Taoranting Park will bring you a variety of cultural activities such as Party history education, the twenty-four festivals of Taoranting, traditional cultural festivals, and pavilion culture.

Zhang Qiang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Taoranting Park Management Office, introduced that in recent years, the park has continued to explore, protect and utilize the unique red culture and traditional cultural resources, and build a red culture base through salons, lectures, and studies.
