This Dragon King Temple is one of the rare high-terrace buildings in Beijing. It is also called "Black Dragon Temple" and is located in Shaliangzi Village, Qianjiadian Town. This temple was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty and rebuilt at the original site in the ninth year of Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty (1473). The temple consists of a main hall, two compartments, a mountain gate and a theater, featuring prayers for rain and folklore temple activities. In 1993, the Dragon King Temple was established as a county-level cultural relics protection unit, and is now one of the important attractions of the Wulong Canyon scenic spot in the Hundred Mile Landscape Corridor.
