In spring, hiking and enjoying flowers are good choices. Here are 4 great places to go hiking in Beijing!

1. Phoenix Ridge

The Phoenix Ridge Natural Scenic Area is located in Sujiatuo Town, Haidian District. There are many temples and rolling hills here, with Longquan Temple and Stone Buddha Palace being the most famous. Currently, it is the time when various mountain flowers are in full bloom in Phoenix Ridge. From the gate to the north line hiking entrance, flowers are in bloom on both sides of a stretch of about 3 kilometers. Due to the influence of the undulating mountains, the flower viewing period can last for about a month.

Along the way you can also experience the steep heavenly staircase. The steps are nearly 90 degrees and are supported only by a chain. Once on the staircase, several pavilions and viewpoints provide excellent views of the mountains.

2. Badachu Park

Badachu Park is the junction of Cuiwei Mountain, Pingpo Mountain and Lushi Mountain in stretching branch of the Taihang Mountains, with the highest peak at 464 meters above sea level. It is called the Eight Great Places because there are eight ancient temples in the scenic area.

Inside the temples of Badachu Park, there are many peach and apricot blossoms as well as huge wishing trees. In spring, there are many people who come here for a walk to enjoy the scenery and hike to worship Buddha. There are both spring scenery and humanistic scenery. Another special feature of this place is the slide and cable car. When you are tired of climbing, you can choose another way to go down the mountain.

3. Xishan National Forest Park

Xishan National Forest Park is a good choice for people who want to climb mountains for exercise. The road up the mountain is relatively gentle and is easy to climb in general. In spring, the park is filled with peach blossoms. The best place to appreciate them is the Spring Pavilion in the south of the park. If you turn left from the east gate and walk about 1 kilometer in the direction of Plum Garden, you will see more than 100 acres of mountain peaches, making you feel like you are in a fairy tale world.

4. Qianling Mountain Park

The main peak of Qianling Mountain, Jile Peak, is 699 meters above sea level and is one of the highest peaks in the suburbs of Beijing. When you climb up to Jile Peak, you can see the famous suburban mountains above 1,000 meters, such as Cat's Ear Mountain in the southwest, Baicaopan, Baihua Mountain and Qingshui Top in the northwest, Balcony Mountain and Miaofeng Mountain in the north, and Yunmeng Mountain in the northeast. It is the mountain which offers the best view from a distance in the suburbs of Beijing. Entering the mountain from the south gate of the park, you can take the cable car or climb the mountain by yourself. The scenery along the way is excellent, allowing you to enjoy the magic of natural scenery and feel the perfect integration of human and nature.
