01 Imperial River Cruise
The Imperial River is also known as the Changhe River. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, this river was changed to a royal river, so it is called the "Imperial River". During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, this river became the waterway for Empress Dowager Cixi to go to the Summer Palace for summer relaxing. So it is also called "Empress Dowager Cixi Waterway".
The Imperial River is an ancient waterway that integrates history, culture, humanistic landscape and natural landscape. It originates from the foot of Xishan Mountain, passes through Kunming Lake to Haidian Maizhuang Bridge, and then turns southeast into Jishuitan, with a total length of more than 30 miles. You can take a cruise along the Imperial River to the Summer Palace and experience the same waterway tour as Empress Dowager Cixi did. Along the way, you can enjoy both the magnificent ancient buildings and the beautiful natural scenery.
This year, the Imperial River Waterway service has started! The boarding location is at the Ziyuwan Pier in Zizhuyuan Park (near the north gate of Zizhuyuan Park), and the debarkation location is at the South Ruyi Gate Pier in the Summer Palace. The whole journey takes about 35 minutes and costs 100 RMB per person. Opening hours: 10:00-16:00. The boat usually departs every whole hour. You can buy tickets through Ctrip or Dian Ping by searching the keyword "Imperial River Cruise".
02 Liangma River Cruise
The fun of boating in Beijing can be experienced not only in the parks, but also in the Liangma River. It takes about 40 minutes to sail 1.8 kilometers from the Yangsha Bridge pier on the Liangma River to the SOLANA pier in Chaoyang Park. There are two completely different views of the Liangma River during the day and at night. The night view has been upgraded to make you feel like you are in a sea of stars. What's better is that a water elevator of the same type as the Three Gorges is also designed here. You can experience the sluice gate without leaving the capital.
You can follow the public number of the scenic spot [Liangma River International Style Waterfront Cruise]. There are not many tickets available, so it is advisable to book in advance. In addition to doing a good job of epidemic prevention, you should also pay attention to the weather conditions. If there is a windy day of level 4 or above or thunderstorm, the boat service is usually closed.
