Qionghua Island, referred to as Qiong Island, is also commonly known as "White Pagoda Hill" because of the white pagoda built on the island. The island is 32 meters high and 913 meters in circumference. Qiong Hua means gorgeous jade in Chinese,indicating that the island is a fairyland treasure island built with jade. According to mythology, Qiong Hua is the flower of Qiong tree (Hua means flower in Chinese), which grows on Penglai Immortal Island, and people can live forever if they eat it. It also means that the island is built after the Jade Pong of the Immortal Island. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, a letter turret was set up at the top of the mountain, and was guarded by the Eight Banners Army. because of its high altitude, once there was an alarm, a signal could be sent immediately.
