Kotaro Oshio

Kotaro Oshio is an acoustic guitarist from Japan. Born in Osaka Prefecture, on February 1, 1968, he is best known for his work on the steel string guitar. Oshio is a part of Sony Music Japan's SME Records division.

Oshio's music is classified within various categories including pop, new age, and jazz. Oshio's musical technique includes fingerpicking, tap harmonics, and a unique strumming style referred to as a "nail attack" in which he slaps the strings with the nails of his middle and ring fingers which is inspired by Michael Hedges. While his albums include mostly original material, Oshio is also known for his covers and movie soundtracks. His unique skill in interpretation and arrangement can be heard in tracks such as Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence from his album Starting Point.

Andy McKee

Andy McKee is an American fingerstyle guitar player who has released several solo albums and been the subject of several popular YouTube videos.

McKee's influences include: Eric Johnson, Dream Theater, Michael Hedges, Preston Reed, Billy McLaughlin, Tommy Emmanuel, Björk, Steve Lukather, Metallica, Joe Satriani, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Vince DiCola, Toto, Peter Gabriel, Imogen Heap, King Crimson, Primus, Pat Metheny, and Don Ross,

McKee began listening to metal, such as Dream Theater, at an early age. He described on Woodsongs how he was a "metal freak" during childhood, even performing a Metallica song in his high school talent show. It was not until he saw Preston Reed that his influences began to shift towards acoustic songwriters such as Don Ross and Michael Hedges. Both walks of music continue to influence him, though he has stuck with acoustic music in his professional life.

An integral part of McKee's style of guitar playing is the use of alternate and open tunings, often combined with a regular and/or a banjo capo.

Vitaly Makukin

Vitaly Makukin was born in Crimea in 1975. He was only 4 when he started his career as a musician, playing piano. His first guitar was offered to Vitaly when he was 10 years old. Two years later, he understood that this instrument will help him to express himself fully. He was around 24 when he tried tapping playing. Today, he perfectly masters this technique and, gifted as he is, makes Vitaly a great virtuoso and one of the best guitarist in the world, opening a new era to guitar playing.

Graduated from Aluchta and Simferopol musical institutes, he writes his own music at crossroad between central Europe traditions, classical culture and jazz. This results into very well structured and melodious compositions.

Vitaly Makukin is currently starting his international career as concertist. He used to play on electric guitars. Today, he has chosen the more natural and soft sound of electro acoustic guitars, with great success.
