As the Spring Festival is around the corner, the Summer Palace is in Chinese New Year's vibe. There are 11 large palace lanterns hanging in the main gate area, 300 red lanterns hanging on the corridors, 300 flags in the gate area and the east embankment, and 3000 red lights and string lights in the main scenic area. The 4 large board with Chinese characters “Fu, Lu, Shou” are placed in the spot in celebration of the New Year.
More than 60 pots of plum and wax bonsai on display, as well as over 40 pots of traditional flowers such as peony, jellyfish and Chinese orchid are exhibited in the Summer Palace. In order to serve best plum landscape, eight horticultural technicians prepared for the exhibition for nearly a year. Especially 40 days before the exhibition, they tailored the flowering period control plan for the plum blossoms and wax bonsai to ensure that the flowering period of the plum and wax plums on display will be fixed during the Spring Festival and remain unified. The exhibition will last until the beginning of the sixth year of the year.
