2021-12-02

At the foot of Badaling Great Wall, Beijing Yeyahu (Wild Duck Lake) National Wetland Park covers a total area of 283.4 hectares. It is the largest wetland nature reserve in North China and one of the few wetland bird reserves of China.

Yeyahu National Wetland Park has four distinct seasons, and its vegetation and water coverage is above 90%. For those birdwatching lovers, it is an ideal place for them to observe various species of wild ducks in a close distance. In Dec. 2000, it has been approved as a Municipal Wetland Bird Nature Reserve in Beijing by the Beijing Municipal Government.

In the migrant season of every year, a large variety of birds make a stopover here, most of which are wild goose and duck species, that is why the lake is called Yeya (Wild Duck) Lake. The wetland here is abundant in wild lives, insects and fishes, which is a great place for people to get close to nature and release their mind, and also a perfect place for camping.
