Description
Beijing Huanghuacheng Lakeside Great Wall is a tourist resort famous for its uniqueness, characterized by its beauty and integration of mountains, clear waters and an ancient stretch of the Great Wall . There are flowers in season for three of the seasons and great scenery can be seen all year round, These sceneries are made magical with clear mountains, beautiful waters, bird song and fragrance of flowers.
Visitors to the site surrounded by mountains and exuberant green forests, are treated to a gorgeous botanical sights whichever season they visit. You can enjoy both the beautiful lake and mountains and view the graceful beauty of the Great Wall simultaneously whilst being surrounded by the verdant trees and red flowers bringing you back to nature. Cross wooden bridges, wade creeks, stride strange stones, ascend the the ancient paths and you can reach Heilong Pond.

There are so many natural scenes for you to see that it will be difficult to tear yourself away, these places include Longwei Cave, Zicui Peak, Zuinv Hill, Shilang Valley, Sweetheart Peak and Three-Pearl Pond. The Heilong Pond, located at the westernmost end of the resort, is surrounded by mountains and its waters are green, clear and deep. Spring water gushes out from the bottom of the pond and the water is crystal clear and cold. In summer when the weather is too hot to bear, it’s pleasantly cool in the pond. The cruise terminal is located on the west side of the central peninsula and hand-rowed boats and pedaloes are the types of boats widely available. Tourists can not only row a boat on the lake, but also take a rest in the cool and enjoy the beautiful view.

How to Tour Huanghuacheng Great Wall
There is a boardwalk on the hill facing the scenic area. You can see everything while wandering along the walk. The experience is pleasing with lush trees and clear lake by your side.
Half way down the boardwalk, you will find a small island against the hill. At the center of the scenic area, it is the best vantage point. There is a wharf, where you can board a cruise to enhance your experience.

Climbing this section is not challenging. But it is in serious disrepair.
There is an ancient hilltop tower named Dongliushi Tower to the east of the dam. It is the highest point, providing a bird's-eye-view of the whole scenic area.
When is the Best Time to Visit?
The best time to visit this section is from April to October. The weather is pleasant in April, May, September, and October. With its lush plants and clear lake, it is also suitable for summer.

How to Get to Huanghuacheng Great Wall from Downtown Beijing
By Special Sightseeing Bus:
It's available on weekends and holidays from April to October.
1. From Dongzhimen: First at Dongzhimen Public Transit Hub you need to buy a combo ticket for Huanghuacheng Lakeside Great Wall and round-trip bus rides before getting onboard. Ticket fare is CNY 80 and the bus departs around 08:00 to 09:00.
2. From Xuanwumen: The ticket is sold in the northeast of Xuanwumen, right before Beijing South Cathedral. It costs CNY 84, including the ticket of Huanghuacheng Great Wall and the round-trip bus fare. It leaves around 7:30 to 8:30.
Tips: You can take subway line 2 or line 13 to Dongzhimen and line 2 or line 4 to Xuanwumen.
By Bus:
Take bus no.916 or 916 Express at Dongzhimen to Huairou Bus Station, and then board the bus H21 to the Small West Lake (Lakeside Great Wall) Station. Walk north to the scenic area.

Where to Eat
There is a grill in the scenic area. You can bring your own food and ingredients there. Or you can buy food inside. Price there is fair.
You can also eat in the local villagers' houses near the scenic area. Most of them also provide accommodation.
