
Yangliuqing Town has a long history and deep-rooted culture background. In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), local business boomed and the Town was honored as "Small Jiangnan (a fertile and affluent land) in North China" and “Small Yangzhou of Tianjin”. In the Qing Dynasty, there were the famous Chongwen Academy and more than 40 ancient temples, and today, there are relics of the Puliang Pagoda, Baoen Temple and Baitan Temple.
