About one hundred steps east of Hufangqiao, an ancient wisteria is gracefully dancing in the breeze. It is still green and luxuriant after 200 years of vicissitude. As the story goes, the wisteria, planted by Ji Xiaolan, a member of the Hanlin Academy of the Qing Dynasty, is also the symbol of his former residence. Jinyang Restaurant, always honored as "The First in Beijing with Authentic Shanxi Taste", is located right in the Former Residence of Ji Xiaolan. "Crispy Fried Duck" is the famous specialty of the restaurant and it was the winner of "Jinding Award" issued by the Ministry of Domestic Trade of China (1993-1998). George W. Bush , former President, as well as George Shultz and Colin Powell, former Secretaries of State of the United States have tasted this delicacy at the restaurant.

Since established in 1959, Jinyang Restaurant has been specialized in Shanxi cuisine and filled with works from many literatus and calligraphers. The inscription "Yuewei Cottage" written by calligrapher and artist Qi Gong is delicate and elegant, which can be called as the highest grade calligraphy. Dining here would be comfortable and interesting that tables are surrounded by exquisite bridges and flowing streams and the dining environment is refreshing and elegant with some bamboos. The large-scale banquet hall on 2F can accommodate 400 people, which is really rare in similar restaurants of Beijing. There are also a dozen private rooms on 3F equipped with high-end and luxury furnishings, as well as gold and silver wares.
