Sitting at the southeastern part of Beijing Olympic Sports Center, Asian Games Village, China Sports Museum was completed and officially opened in September 1990. The exhibitions of the museum are displayed on five themes, namely, Chinese history of sport in the ancient period (before 1840), Chinese history of sport in the modern period (1840-1949), the sport achievements of People’s Republic of China, Olympic sports, and China’s national sports. People can understand development history of sports in China through those exhibitions.

Possessing a collection of 4700 pieces of precious sports relics from both ancient to contemporary times, and 5000 rare pictures of sports cultural relics, China Sports Museum is a comprehensive social education camp for researching and disseminating Chinese sports culture, and a key window to know about sports in China.
